Webmin and cPanel

As Webmin can be difficult for some users to set up email as well as add other applications, you may wish to integrate Webmin with cPanel hosting.

To do so, follow below:

1. Create the user's cPanel account as usual.

2. Update (or have the user update) the 'www' CNAME record to an IP record pointing at the Webmin installation

3. Add the following .htaccess content:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L]

The above will provide the user with the convenience of cPanel for email, DNS, and othe applications, while providing full root access and dedicated resources for their Java Server along with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.

In the above example, we mapped 'www' to the Webmin IP.

As the Webmin modules all include one-click domain mapping, your user's can substitute any other paths, sub domains, for above as well as map multiple paths and sub domains.
